For the the next six months, I will write my “Leo’s Losers” column for the upcoming NFL and NCAA contests. I will select 10 games where I choose just the loser and five where I give an in-depth answer and one game that I call “Leo’s Lock”. That’s the one you can take to the bank so, without further delay, enjoy the first installment.

NCAA-Oregon State loses to Michigan

Yes, I know the Wolverines lost at Utah last week. But who thinks the Jim Harbaugh era in Ann Arbor will begin on a sour note at home? Not me. UM on top in The Big House.

NCAA-South Florida loses to Florida State

No surprise with the outcome but I think the score will be a lot closer than people think. The Bulls have a special talent on offense in running back Marlon Mack as well as a very fast and aggressive defense. Plus the Seminoles are young and untested. In a dyslexic Sunshine State morning showdown, FSU over USF but a lot closer than the experts predict.

NCAA-Oregon loses to Michigan State

The Ducks don’t seem to miss a beat but MSU is still smarting from the loss last year in Eugene. Also, the Spartans feel they have a shot at a Final Four berth and a win in East Lansing over the runner up from the title game last year will make their resume.

NFL-Tennessee loses to Tampa Bay

It’s #1 versus #2 but not teams but draft picks. Bucs Jameis Winston going against Titans Marcus Mariota
as the two quarterbacks look to lead their teams out of the cellar in the South. Pewter Pirates use home field as the advantage to finish on top.

NFL-Seattle loses to St. Louis

You probably think I’m crazy but hear me out. Entire Seahawk secondary went under the knife after Super Bowl loss last year. Also, safety Cam Chancellor a holdout and won’t play. Rams beat Seattle in St. Louis last year and defensive line will make life miserable for QB Russell Wilson again this year.

NFL-Chicago loses to Green Bay

Don’t tell me how many injuries there are in Green Bay. The only one that would matter is QB Aaron Rodgers and he’s fit as a fiddle. Pack over Bears even in the Windy City.
