Week 7 was not as good as Week 6 but still finished on the positive side of the ledger. Great week with the NCAA (7-2) but just a so-so performance (3-4) with the NFL.

That computed to a 10-6 log and added $45 to my pot to put that total at $1,110 to the good. Good news. Still perfect with Leo’s Lock (7-0). Bad news. As you have seen with Leo’s Specials, the hard part is picking with the spreads. That’s why I avoid that.

Here’s the prognostications for Week 8. Enjoy.

CLEVELAND (+6) loses to Arizona

Cardinals need the win to stay in the drivers seat in the NFC West. Browns need the win to stay out of the AFC North cellar. Carson Palmer and Larry Fitzgerald will be more motivated than whoever is under center for Cleveland. Zona with a big win.

Mississippi (-7) loses to AUBURN

Can Auburn lose another one at home? I think not. Tigers finally put it all together against an Ole Miss team that has only played well once on the road and that was in Alabama. Don’t look for a repeat geographic performance. War Eagle flying high.

Florida (-2 1/2) loses to Georgia

Coach Mark Richt is like the mythical Phoenix. Just when you think you have the Bulldogs down and out he emerges from the rubble with a big win. This is his kind of scenario with Florida in Jacksonville. Georgia finds a way to beat the Gators and stay in the SEC playoff picture.

TEXAS TECH (+2 1/2) loses to Oklahoma State

The undefeated Cowboys have quietly stayed under the radar. Not hard to do when you’re in the same conference with scoring machines Baylor and TCU. Tech will not be caught by surprise but OK State still finds a way to win.

CHICAGO (-1) loses to. Minnesota

Vikes QB Teddy Bridgewater had his coming out party last week. That doesn’t bode well for the Bears. Plus he can hand it off to #28 if the going gets tough. Purple People Eaters over the Monsters of the Midway in a close one.

San Francisco (+8) loses to ST. LOUIS

Can Frisco be as bad as they were last week? No but they can be worse. Rams have found their running game with Todd Gurley and that’s another weapon for QB Nick Foles to use.  San Francisco QB Colin Kapernick will be under contestant pressure all game long. St. Louis big over the hapless 49ers.

South Florida (+7) loses to NAVY
KENTUCKY (+8 1/2) loses to Tennessee
Central Florida (+27) loses to CINCINNATI
Syracuse (+20) loses to FLORIDA STATE
HAWAII (+7) loses to Air Force

DALLAS (+7) loses to Seattle
New York Jets (-3) loses to OAKLAND
New York Giants (+3) loses to NEW ORLEANS
Tampa Bay (+7) loses to ATLANTA
Kansas City (-4) loses to Detroit

Notre Dame at TEMPLE (+11)

Temple could be that team of destiny in 2015. Definitely  the darling of Philly. Sold out The Linc for this tilt with the Irish. Maybe 50,000 Notre Dame fans there but it’s still a packed house which is a rarity for college football in the City of Brotherly Love. Take the Owls and the points. They’re no fluke and may win it outright.

Clemson at NORTH CAROLINA STATE (51 1/2)

Take the under. Yeah, I know Dabo’s guys hung 58 on Miami in Florida last week but this is the ultimate trap game for the Tigers. Florida State comes to Death Valley next week and the Wolfpack normally play well in Raleigh. Clemson wins but not they don’t put up lots of points but neither does State. 30-13 is my call and that’s an under.

San Diego at BALTIMORE (50 1/2)

Chargers are really putting up the frequent flyers miles this year. Ravens having troubles finding the end zone no matter where they play. Sounds to me like points will be at a premium. Take the under.

Cincinnati (+1 1/2) at PITTSBURGH

Bengals one of the few undefeated teams left in the NFL. Steelers can’t afford to go down four games in the loss column to Cincy.  This is a formula for a great game and, by the way, either team likes the other.  Winner looks like to be by a single point so take the points.
