Good news. Another positive week. Leo’s Lock was on the money again. That makes it twelve out of of thirteen weeks with the correct prediction. Had enough other right picks to finish with a plus $105 to move the total up to $1120 to the good.
Bad news. Only NFL games to pick for the next few weeks and, being totally honest, the pros are my Achilles heel. Plus, only 15 games on the slate to choose.
Well, no sense complaining. Here’s my losing selections for Week 14.
Dallas (+6 1/2) loses to GREEN BAY
Packers have a shot to control their own destiny with a win in Wisconsin. Cowboys have a shot to get back in the NFC Least, I mean East, hunt for the division crown. I vote for a big Cheesehead win over Big D on the Frozen Tundra of Lambeau Field.
Buffalo (Pick) loses to PHILADELPHIA
Really going out on a limb here. You don’t know which Eagles team will show up. Also, you don’t know which beat up Bills team will come to the Linc. In the NFL version of the “Battle of Jekyll and Hyde”, I got the home Birds. Philly in a close one.
San Francisco (+1 1/2) loses to CLEVELAND
Ok, I’ll admit it. I’ve drunk the Manziel Kool-Aid. I truly believe the biggest mistake the Browns made was not starting Johnny Football from the beginning of the season. No mistake on the lake this weekend. He’ll prove me right by dismantling the 49ers at FirstEnergy Stadium by double digits.
Oakland (+6 1/2) loses to DENVER
You would expect the Manning-less Broncos to be ripe for the picking. Not so fast, my friend. Enter Brock Osweiler. Who, you say? Just the backup QB that’s undefeated since #18 went on the shelf with a foot injury. The magic continues with a big AFC West division victory over the Raiders at Mile High.
Atlanta (+8.5) loses to CAROLINA
Let’s get this out of the way right now. The Panthers are for real in all three phases of the game. When #1 Superman on offense and #59 Captain America on defense are hot, Carolina is almost unbeatable. Look for the beat to continue with a big win over the Falcons in Charlotte.
Tennessee (+7) loses to NEW YORK JETS
Jets need win to stay in the playoff hunt. Titans need a win to give interim Head Coach Mike Mularkey a shot at getting the job permanently. Tennessee and Mariota play well but not well enought. New York salvaged a victory with a late field goal in the MetLife Stadium.
PITTSBURGH (+3) loses to Cincinnati
San Diego (+10 1/2) loses to KANSAS CITY
Washington (+3 1/2) loses to CHICAGO
New York Giants (-1 1/2) loses to MIAMI
New England (-3 1/2) loses HOUSTON
Indianapolis (Pick) loses to JACKSONVILLE
TAMPA BAY (-4 1/2) loses to New Orleans
ST. LOUIS (+3) loses to Detroit
BALTIMORE (+12) loses to Seattle
