SIGHTS OF THE OUTBACK BOWL : GAME DAY

Our Knights Sports Productions/It’s Sports Magazine crew, which numbered ten credentialed media members, again descended on the Outback Bowl for the annual New Year’s Day contest for the umpteenth time.  This year’s game was between the University of Minnesota and Auburn University and it did not disappoint.  The Golden Gophers, after a shaky start led to 10 War Eagle points, came all the way back with a late fourth-quarter touchdown to beat the Tigers 31-24.

As a little extra bonus, we cajoled Peter Blake from Bucs Report to do a pre-game as well as a post-game live feed right from the field.  BR also went live from the post-game press conference.  Nice job, Peter B.

As has almost become a given for the Outback Bowl, it was a Chamber of Commerce weather day.  As you can see from the almost 90 photos below, it was a perfect afternoon for football.  Sunny and warm plus not a drop of precipitation which meant the 45,000-plus that were in attendance enjoyed a great day of football in Tampa at the RayJay.

I want to take this opportunity to thank Outback Bowl President/CEO, Jim McVay, and Director of Communications and Sponsorships, Mike Schulze, for all their help.  It is a pleasure working with a group that is so professional.

So, until 2021, here are sights of one of the best-run bowl games in the country.  Images provided by our photo-journalist Trace Crisp.Enjoy.
