WeSeeU Inc, the Dungy Family Foundation and Henry “Shake” Washington will be distributing Activity Packets this Wednesday, May 13th at Sheehy Elementary School. WeSeeU Inc has been awarded the State Farm Community grant in recognition for their efforts during COVID19 to make sure that students in underserved communities receive Activity Packets filled with reading books donated by All Pro Dads and Tony & Lauren Dungy.
Also, included in these packets are learning and writing supplies (crayons, coloring pencils, activity/coloring books, glue sticks, sketch pads, flash cards, crossword books, journals, etc.) and fun items (sidewalk chalk, jumping ropes, flashing balls, bubbles, etc). This community grant, with reading book donations from All Pro Dads and donations from other local organizations/donors will enable the continuation of efforts to bless students with supplies and items for a few more weeks. The more the support, the more Activity Packets that can be provided to students. To date, over 1600 activity packets to students. Please visit www.weseeu.net to support this initiative.
Also, through the generosity of additional local restaurants, who are donating meals to show appreciation for our school support staff/teachers that are working the front line on Wednesdays when students are receiving their meals, this was such a HUGE success last week. For that reason, it will be continued.
On Wednesday, May 13th at noon, Sheehy Elementary will begin distributing appreciation meals to Principals that will pickup the meals for their school staff. A special shout and GREAT BIG THANK YOU to Kuleen Dipak Shah for his support and help in coordinating the donation of meals from the following restaurants: Tijuana Flats (Carrollwood), PDQ (Carrollwood), Glory Days (Carrollwood), Carrabbas (St. Pete-4th Street), Little Greek (Carrollwood) Forbici Italian and Konan’s BBQ restaurant.
To help spread some more good news of the community coming together during the tough times, please contact Tanya Cross at WeSeeU, Inc. She can be reached at 813-927-1634.
Thank you in advance for any help and support for this worthy project.
