By Leo Haggerty

As you probably already realize, the Clemson-Florida State game was postponed.   I am replacing it with CLEVELAND (-2) loses to Philadelphia.

Sometimes, it better to be lucky than good.  Week 11 was a prime example of that statement.

LEO’S LOCK (8-2) was losing all the way until the final few minutes.  That dog was good for 400 shillings.  LEO’S LOSERS (30-20) had a better performance going 3-2 for the weekend but it was the wrong two on the right side of the dash.  That only allowed me to increase my bankroll by 25 rubles.  LEO’S OTHERS (64-36) posted a 7-3 log.  That was good for 500 pesos.

Let’s review the results, shall we?  I finished Week 10 with an 11-5 record and that added 925 krona (money in Sweden in case you’re interested) much to the chagrin of my short-term investment banker.

So, the arithmetic after Week 10 is pretty good to say the least.  My cumulative totals are 103-57 and that equates to right at 5K greenbacks.  Not bad at all.

Without further adieu, here are my prognostications for Week 11.  I do reserve the right to change any of the games that I picked if they are canceled due to Covid-19. Enjoy.

Virginia Tech (-3) loses to PITTSBURGH
The Panthers are coming off a big road win against Florida State.  The Hokies have lost their last two contest at home to Liberty by three points and Miami by a single digit.  Game in the Steel City and Pittsburgh will be well rested after having to postpone their contest last week against Georgia Tech.  That’s enough for me.  PITT, 31-27, with a late score to seal the deal.

ARKANSAS (+1) loses to Louisiana State
Yes, I know it’s a home game for the Razorbacks and the Tigers are a shadow of their National Championship team of last year.  Still, the Bayou Bengals have too much firepower and HC Ed Orgeron will have his charges ready to play.  LSU, 38-27, as the Purple & Gold get back on the winning track.

East Carolina (-3 1/2) loses to TEMPLE
Both teams have one win each and it’s against South Florida.  The Owls have been decimated by the coronavirus and will be starting a true freshman at quarterback.  That’s the bad news.  The good news for the Philly gang is it’s a home game and I believe that will be the deciding factor.  TU, 24-21, with a late field goal and a stop to notch their second win of the campaign.

NORTHWESTERN (+7 1/2) loses to Wisconsin
The Badgers seem to be on a mission after having to cancel two tilts to a coronavirus outbreak.  Wisconsin manhandled Illinois and Michigan but Northwestern is better than both of them.  The game will be close but the guys from Madison have not only an offense but a defense to match.  UW, 23-16, as the Red & White wear down the Wildcats in the fourth quarter.

New England (-2) loses to HOUSTON
Can Texans QB Deshaun Watson rally the troops and post a victory against the Patriots at NRG Stadium.  I believe he can.  HOU, 30-20, as the Lone Star guy’s offense shows up.

New York Jets (+9 1/2) loses to LOS ANGELES CHARGERS
Hey, it’s the Jets.  They have to go cross country and the Thunderbolts are smarting from some questionable officiating the last two outings that cost them victories.  Won’t happen this week.  LAC, 38-17, as Chargers QB Justin Herbert throws for four TDs against an overmatched New York secondary.

FLORIDA STATE (+35 1/2) loses to Clemson

VANDERBILT (+31 1/2) loses to Florida

Cincinnati (-4 1/2) loses to CENTRAL FLORIDA

Southern California (-2 1/2) loses to UTAH

OKLAHOMA (-7) loses to Oklahoma State

NORTH CAROLINA STATE (-5) loses to Liberty

JACKSONVILLE (+10 1/2) loses to Pittsburgh

Miami (-3 1/2) loses to DENVER

LAS VEGAS (+8) loses to Kansas City

Los Angeles Rams (+4) loses to TAMPA BAY

CLEVELAND (-2) loses to Philadelphia
