PONTIFICATING FROM THE SUNSHINE STATE – JANUARY 10
By Leo Haggerty
The NCAA 2020 football season finally comes to a conclusion tomorrow night. Considering the state of college football in August, this is a monumental accomplishment.
#1 seed Alabama (12-0) will take on #3 seed Ohio State (7-0) in Miami. Yes, you are reading the records correctly and that’s another issue for another column at a later date.
I believe that both teams are evenly matched and it will be a great football game. The big obvious difference between the two programs is that one has played five less contests than the other.
Because of the wear and tear of a grueling dozen tilts, I believe that the Crimson Tide will be running out of gas in the fourth quarter. That’s when a fresher and more rested Buckeye squad will make their move.
Look for a lot of points to be scored at Hard Rock Stadium tomorrow night. When the dust settles, I look for an upset. OSU, 45-42, with a late field goal to secure a come from behind victory and to capture their second CFP trophy.
Will I be right? Meet you around the television to find out. Enjoy.
