The hype over Super Bowl LV has come and gone.  The Buccaneers have hoisted, and thrown with much consternation from some quarters, the Lombardi Trophy after dispatching the Chiefs 31-9.

Some of our readers have asked a simple question.  What is Its Sports Magazine going to do until the NFL kicks back off in August?  Basically, inquiring minds want to know what now?

Jeffrey Fox at Its Sports Mag

Well, our loyal readers, here’s what to expect from our “Super Six” pictured above. Senior Writer Rob Kriete (bottom left) and I (bottom right) along with photo journalists Trace Crisp (top middle) as well as Steve Jacobson (bottom middle) along with Matt Crisp (top right) plus publisher Jeffrey Neil Fox (top left) have big plans for the months ahead.

We will continue our coverage of USF sports.  The Men’s and Women’s basketball teams are heading into the home stretch with both having aspirations of being a part of March Madness this year.  Look for a pictorial or two revolving around the Green & Gold Volleyball along with Baseball and Softball.  Plus, Spring Practice begins for Bulls Football with the culmination being the Saturday Spring Game at Raymond James Stadium on March 27th.  We’ll be there.

But that’s not all.  Rob and I will be attending our first Raptors game the beginning of March.  Look for extensive coverage of the Toronto/Tampa Bay franchise as the NBA moves to the second half of their season and I’ll be doing the brunt of the heavy lifting there..

We will continue to cover the defending NHL Champion Lightning as they look to go skate the Stanley Cup around Amalie Arena for a second straight season.  We have been on the Zoom calls since the season began and we look to catch the Bolts up close and personal once the pandemic protocols are relaxed.

Rob will be extensively covering the Rays for once simple reason.  His passion is baseball and look for his enlightening columns dealing with America’s pastime as soon as the “Men in Blue” yell play ball.

We all at ISM realize that the NFL is a 13 month a year sport.  There’s a “playing” season and a “non playing” season.  We will continue our compelling coverage of the Pewter Pirates from Free Agency through the Draft leading up to training camp.

Finally, the Tornadoes, the newest member of the sports landscape in the Tampa Bay area, will start play in the Arena Football League the middle of March and ISM will be there in a big way.  Rob will be doing the play by play and I will be doing the color commentary.  Also, the Crisp father and son team of Trace and Matt will be behind the camera bringing you all the action.

As you can see, we have a jam packed lineup for the next four to five months.  So, buckle up and come along for the ride because it’s going to be a wild one.
