SCREAMIN’ FROM THE CHEAP SEATS – MARCH 13
By Leo Haggerty
THE BANNER IS RAISED
The Tampa Bay Lightning return home Saturday to the friendly ice surface at Amalie Arena. There are two things that will be significantly different from the first part of the 2020-21 campaign.
First, and the most important point from an attendance perspective, fans will be allowed to return to watch the game in person. Granted, a maximum of 3,800 patrons will be permitted to witness the festivities up close. Not the usual packed house but a step in the right direction.
Second, the Bolts will finally lift the 2019-20 Stanley Cup Champion banner into the rafters. Tampa Bay unveiled it during the opening home contest of the season but chose to wait until there were “fannies in the seats” to witness as well as soak in the festivities surrounding the second National Hockey League championship for the organization.
If you’re one of the lucky people who can go to the game, enjoy the moment. If you can’t be there to witness the event, make sure you tune in early to watch as the banner takes its place up next to the inaugural 2003-04 NHL championship flag
