POLL QUESTION – JUNE 6
By ISM Staff & Contributors

It’s Sunday in the big city and that could only mean one thing and that’s the Its Sports Magazine Poll Question.  So let’s get right to it, shall we?

A rather interesting query has been placed before our panel this week.  It is as follows:

WHAT SPORTING EVENT WOULD YOU NEVER ATTEND EVEN IF YOU WERE GIVEN FREE TICKETS?

Rather unique question to ask of people who cover sports, right?  Here are their responses.  Enjoy

ALLEN CURTISS – NFC EAST CORRESPONDENT
There is really no sporting event I would NOT attend if the tix was free.  There are some events I would not pay for, but I love to watch people compete, so if offered to me I would attend.

DAVID ALEXANDER – AFC WEST CORRESPONDENT
This is a great question! Probably an event I don’t quite understand.  I’ve tried to learn the rules of cricket over the years, but still have no idea what I’m watching!

Curt Schilling’s Hall of Fame ceremony. There are few players over the years that I’ve grown to despise more than Schilling. From racist remarks to his overall “woe-is-me” approach to life, not to mention better players like Bonds and Clemens are kept out and he’s allowed in. If he gets inducted I’ll steer clear of Cooperstown and go hang out with Pete Rose selling autographs across the street.

I have to agree with my esteemed colleague of many years, Al Curtiss, on this one.  If I get a free ticket to attend any sporting evert, I’m there.  If it’s free, it’s for me especially since March of 2020 when Covid brought media attendance at ANY sporting event to a screeching halt.  With that being said, I’m not a real fan of the MMA.  I side with the late Senator John McCain when he referred to Mixed Martial Arts as “human cock fighting” and that, my loyal readers, is pretty much were I’m at as well.  Entertaining to some and barbaric to others and I’m in the latter camp.
