WHO WILL WIN THE 2022 COLLEGE FOOTBALL PLAYOFF CHAMPIONSHIP GAME

Well, ladies and gentlemen, our initial 2022 POLL QUESTION is back.  To start off the new year, we asked our group of sports aficionados to give their opinion on this question.

WHO WILL WIN THE 2022 COLLEGE FOOTBALL PLAYOFF CHAMPIONSHIP GAME?

Below are the responses of contributors.  Enjoy.

JOHN LENTZ – NCAA MEN’S BASKETBALL ANALYST
Do not bet against Saban..

MIKE  SIMZAK – AFC NORTH CORRESPONDENT
As much as I would like to say Georgia because rooting for Alabama is kind of like rooting for the Devil simply because he appears in the Bible, Kirby will no doubt be smarting (see what I did there) from the Bulldogs performance in the SEC Championship game but there is a reason why Nick Saban is 25-1 against his former assistants; the master never teaches a pupil all his tricks. No one has yet gone broke betting on Saban to win a championship so I’ll (reluctantly) go Tide to roll (did it again) 35-24.

WILL SMITH – AFC NORTH CORRESPONDENT
As much as I’m not a fan of them, I have to go with Alabama.  Georgia will not only have to overcome  last meetings memories, they will have to overcome the Saban mystique.  But the main reason I believe Alabama will win is the Georgia offense just isn’t good enough to win against a very talented defensive front.  You need to be able to spread  Alabama out and get vertical, that’s just not the strength of Georgia.   I hope I’m completely wrong but we’ve seen this story play out before.
DAVID ALEXANDER – AFC WEST CORRESPONDENT
Tough to root for a team who’s quarterback sounds like a yacht captain, but I see Georgia’s defense doing enough to win the game.  Georgia 24, Alabama 17.
LEO HAGERTY – EDITOR
This should be a close game for one simple reason.  Both teams went all in last month in the SEC Championship contest never expecting the College Football Playoff Championship tilt to be Bama-UGA II.  I’m sticking with the old pigskin adage that it’s hard to beat someone twice in the same season.  Georgia 30-23 with a late TD to ice it.
